Dear Members of the Boundary Historical Society,
welcome to our April BHS member newsletter!
First, mark
your calendar, our annual picnic will be held at Owl Mountain Ranch (between
Grand Forks & Christina Lake) on Saturday, June 15th. Details
will be coming out towards the end of May but plan on bringing your lunch, your
lawn chair, your family and/or friends and a prayer for sunshine!
Our
publications committee is continuing to work hard on both our next report and
our upcoming post card book. Articles are slow to come in though. While the
committee can edit and compile articles, they can’t write them all. If you have
knowledge of Boundary history, or life in the Boundary in earlier years, please
consider putting them in print for sharing. History unshared is history
unknown. Articles can be dropped off at the Archives (in the basement of City
Hall), mailed to us at the address below or handed in through any board member.
Information
from the Fall Fair board (being held August 23 – 25th) is that this
year’s theme will be “Going Back to the Past” – we are hoping to have a table
again this year for selling memberships and books.
Remember
- we need new faces for our board as of
our AGM in the autumn. If you’re interested in a specific position, feel free
to contact the person currently in that position (or any other board member)
for information about what’s involved.
Our next
Board meeting is scheduled for late May, so the next newsletter should be
posted on our blog, and an email notification sent, 2 – 3 weeks later. In the meantime, get those pens or keyboards
working!
